Celebrating 4th of July in Grand Strand and Pee Dee

The cities along the Grand Strand and Pee Dee are gearing up for the highly anticipated Independence Day celebrations. Here are some of the spectacular events planned to ensure a fun-filled day for everyone:

Salute from the Shore

This year, the much-loved South Carolina tradition will return as F-16 jets and a C-17 will take flight on July 4 at 11 a.m. They will be heading down the state’s coast, starting their journey from Cherry Grove at approximately 1 p.m. and making their course to Beaufort over the next hour. Additionally, there will also be a separate show starting at 11 a.m. in Murrells Inlet, where spectators can marvel at civilian-owned, vintage airplanes like the T-34s, T-6s, and T-28s as they make their way down to Folly Beach.

Myrtle Beach Fireworks Show

Residents and tourists in Myrtle Beach can look forward to a free fireworks show starting at 9 p.m. at the Second Avenue Pier. The event is courtesy of the Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance and Oceanfront Merchants Association (OMA). Throughout the day, locals can also set off fireworks on private property between the hours of 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. and until 12:30 a.m. on July 4. Moreover, Broadway at the Beach will be presenting another fireworks display beginning at 10 p.m.

The Hangout and Myrtle Beach Pelicans

The Hangout, a popular venue, is planning an all-day celebration, including live music and engaging activities. On July 3, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans baseball team will also host a game against the Charleston RiverDogs, following which a phenomenal fireworks display will light up the night sky. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

North Myrtle Beach Fireworks

In North Myrtle Beach, Barefoot Landing has its annual fireworks show slated for 10 p.m. There will also be live music and various activities throughout the week for everyone’s enjoyment. Furthermore, the Cherry Grove Pier will also be hosting a spectacular fireworks show, with more details to be announced soon.

Surfside Beach Parade and Celebration

In Surfside Beach, the annual 4th of July Golf Cart Parade will kick off at 11 a.m. along Ocean Boulevard. Prizes will be awarded for the best-decorated carts. A separate holiday celebration will also begin at 5 p.m. in Memorial Park.

Murrells Inlet Boat Parade and Fireworks

The 41st annual Murrells Inlet boat parade will start at 5:30 p.m. on July 4 along the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk. It will then be followed by a fireworks show at 10 p.m. Furthermore, a cleanup will be conducted at the MarshWalk on July 5 to ensure the area remains beautiful and enjoyable for everyone.

Pawleys Island Parade and Contests

The Town of Pawleys Island will host its yearly 4th of July Parade at 10 a.m. The route will begin from South Causeway and finish up at the Old Town Hall. The town will also conduct contests for best-decorated parade floats, homes, and docks.

Florence Flamingos Baseball Game and Fireworks

The Florence Flamingos baseball team will host the Asheboro Zookeepers at Carolina Bank Field on July 4, with a fireworks show lined up to take place right after the game, scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
