String of Robberies in Florence Leads to Multiple Arrests, Further Suspects Being Sought
In a shocking development, three individuals have been taken into custody by local law enforcement in the wake of a string of robberies in Florence, South Carolina. The series of thefts, all occurring in less than 24 hours, has certainly shaken the local community. Intriguingly, the incidents all occurred within the same general vicinity, indicating a possible coordinated effort by the suspects.
Detailed Account of the Incidents
The robberies happened between midnight and 3:30 pm on Aug. 19 near the intersection of Coit Street and Darlington Street. According to the Florence Police Department, the first incident occurred at approximately 12:50 am. The victim reportedly flagged down law enforcement officials, disclosing a harrowing tale of being accosted by five suspects near Coit Village. The men allegedly pointed a gun at the victim, stole his belongings, and then fled the scene. Fortunately, the victim was unhurt in the incident.
Shortly after, police received a call about a second robbery in the same area around 1:45 am. The victim was walking to a nearby gas station when three individuals approached him, brandishing a gun, robbed him, and made their escape. Once again, the victim did not sustain any injuries and contacted the police after reaching the safety of his hotel.
The last robbery of the string occurred at roughly 3:30 pm, featuring young victims aged 15 and 17. They were robbed at gunpoint at the On the Go Gas Station near the sites of the previous incidents. The teenagers had been headed to a store to purchase a gaming console when they were intercepted by two suspects. The assailants reportedly pointed a firearm at them, stole their money, and then ran off. Neither teenager was physically harmed in the confrontation.
Police Make Arrests
Following an intensive investigation, the police managed to identify three suspects, one of whom, it is believed, was involved in all three incidents. The police teams conducted a targeted search in the 200 block of N Coit Street, resulting in the arrest of Zion Cusack, Tyquan Williams, and Daymon Tinsley.
Cusack is suspected to be the common link in all three robberies. Presently, all three men are being held at the Florence County Detention Center, where they are awaiting a bond hearing.
