Federal Agency Holds Event in Florence to Assist Veterans
In a bid to further support our country’s men and women who have protected and served, the US Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) has organized an event at the Florence Center. Known as the Veteran Experience Action Center, the event comes as a push to help the servicemen and servicewomen understand and obtain their entitled benefits. Whether they have new or existing claims for financial or medical assistance, the VA is stepping in to offer guidance and support.

US Department of Veterans Affairs Columbia Regional Office Director Sheila Jackson emphasized, “Many vets in South Carolina are unaware of and do not take advantage of the numerous benefits they’re eligible for, owing to factors like transportation, distance, or rural living. This event offers them a chance to understand what we can do for them,”

The event will be operational again on Saturday, from 10 a.m. in the morning until 2 p.m. that afternoon. To ensure that all veterans have an equal opportunity to benefit, the VA has made the event free of charge. Veterans are encouraged to drop by, engage in dialogue with the officials, and get a first-hand understanding of their due benefits.
