First up, the girls’ Class AA Lower State championship will feature Andrew Jackson taking on Lake City at 3:00 p.m. ET. Hot on their heels, at 4:30 p.m., the boys from Andrew Jackson will face off against Atlantic Collegiate Academy in the Class AA Lower State championship.

The day kicked off with the girls’ Class AAAA Lower State championship, where Lower Richland squared off against North Augusta at 3:00 p.m. This was followed by the boys’ Class AAAA Lower State championship featuring Wilson and North Augusta at 4:30 p.m. Meanwhile, the evening saw more thrilling games with Westside challenging South Pointe in the girls’ Class AAAA Upper State championship at 6:00 p.m., and Wren battling Lancaster in the boys’ Class AAAA Upper State championship at 7:30 p.m.
The excitement will continue on March 5, featuring various championships leading up to the grand finale on March 6, with State Championships for Girls Class A and Boys Class A, along with Girls Class AAA and Boys Class AAA later that evening.

Tamia Watkins shone brightly, leading the team with an astounding 33 points, while also contributing 12 rebounds and 8 assists. This marked her impressive 11th consecutive game scoring over 30 points!
Unfortunately, the boys’ team faced a tougher battle against Atlantic Collegiate, narrowly losing the Lower State final 40-45. One area for improvement noted was their free throw performance, making only 10 out of 21 attempts, which certainly impacted their overall chances. Junior Zeke Clyburn emerged as the standout scorer for the boys’ team with 14 points.
