In-state EDGE Anthony Addison Sets Official Visit to South Carolina

In a sensational turn of events in the South Carolina recruiting scene, Sumter class of 2025 EDGE Anthony Addison, known for his prowess and quick maneuverability on the football field, has set an official summer visit to the Gamecocks. The announcement was made on Wednesday evening on the player’s Twitter account.

Football Maestro Addison Sets South Carolina in His Sights

The 6-foot-3 and 215-pound player has been a highly awaited target for the Gamecocks. Industrious and hardworking, Addison has been quite the attraction for Coach Sterling Lucas and his team. Often described as the backbone of the Sumter’s team defense, Addison’s exceptional skills, and agility have managed to catch the eye of not just South Carolina, but multiple other prestigious football institutions.

The Big Official Visit Announcement

In his Twitter post, Addison stated that he is scheduled to visit South Carolina on the weekend of June 21. This would be the third big recruiting weekend in Columbia for the summer. In doing so, Addison joins the ranks of the latest South Carolina aspirants to set their official visits this summer. The offer from South Carolina landed in his lap back in November and since then has been on campus for a junior day earlier this year.

Addison’s Unparalleled Excitement and Passion

Addison could hardly contain his excitement over his unexpected offer. “It was an in-person offer. In-person offers are always the best because you never know they were coming,” he mentioned diligently. This sense of surprise coupled with astounding joy is what he expressed further, “I didn’t expect him to offer me because every other visit, I go up there expecting it. But this time I really just went up there to watch the game because it’s Clemson versus South Carolina, and I grew up watching it.”

An Exceptional Talent with Impressive Performance Record

Last year, Addison ended his junior campaign with 96 tackles, six sacks, 25 TFLs, a forced fumble, and a pick-six. Remarkably, this extraordinary talent has also managed to land other offers from various recognized institutions namely, Tennessee, West Virginia, USF, Cincinnati, Duke, and Coastal Carolina.

“I Just Want To Go Somewhere Where They Want Me” – Addison’s Career Aspirations

Looking forward, Addison has been clear about what he wants from his future and his career. “In the big picture of things, I just want to go somewhere where they want me,” he says. He knows that achieving his goals will take an immense amount of grit, determination, and hard work which he is ready and eager to put forward.

Other Possible Visits Lined Up

While no official dates have been set yet, Addison also recently hinted that he plans an official visit to Tennessee. The promising player is sure to attract more attention during the recruitment weekend, adding to the anticipation and excitement surrounding these events. South Carolina, undoubtedly, is eager to tap into this home-grown talent and enhance their squad.
