A dog is scheduled to be euthanized after a deadly attack on a 71-year-old woman. The lady was innocuously biking through a local lane when an aggressive dog broke free from its leash and attacked her.
Woman Loses Life in Shocking Canine Attack
The victim, Karen Nelson, experienced multiple traumatic injuries as a result of the dog bite which led to her being knocked off her bike. Despite immediate medical attention and hospitalization, Nelson succumbed to her injuries later. A post-mortem of her body is scheduled to be carried out at the Medical University of South Carolina on the upcoming Friday.
Owners Voluntarily Surrender Dog
Post the tragic event, the owners of the dog have signed a voluntary surrender form, agreeing to the decision of authorities. This agreement has led to the cancellation of a previously scheduled hearing regarding the matter.
