The Broncos, now holding a record of 4-4, were led by Morgan Graham, who had an impressive game with 19 points and eight rebounds. Talia Trotter also made notable contributions, adding 12 points to the scoreboard, while Nyah Wilkins chipped in with three points.
On the other side, the Patriots improved their record to 6-1 thanks to standout performances from Jada Richards and Kiana Lee. Richards dominated the game, scoring 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting, including 4-of-9 from three-point range. She also contributed three rebounds, three steals, and an assist. Lee supported the team’s efforts with 19 points, nine rebounds, and two assists.
The game started with the Broncos struggling to find their rhythm. By the end of the first quarter, they were trailing 18-11. The Patriots extended their lead to 40-25 by halftime, putting Fayetteville State in a challenging position.
In the third quarter, the Broncos attempted to bounce back but found themselves further behind, ending the quarter at 61-45. Despite a brief moment in the final quarter when Fayetteville State managed a 5-0 run, the Patriots quickly regained control of the game.
Fayetteville State’s defense managed to force 15 turnovers from the Patriots, converting those opportunities into 10 points. Additionally, the team’s bench stepped up, contributing 20 points to the overall score. However, these efforts were not enough to overcome the Patriots’ relentless offense.
The Broncos are scheduled to take a break in their game play, returning to the court on Wednesday, December 11th, where they will face Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina. The game is set to begin at 5:30 PM.
