Florence Man Identified in Fatal N.C. Kayaking Incident

Officials have identified the man from Florence who tragically lost his life in a kayaking incident over the weekend in North Carolina. The man was 72-year-old Ross Fulcher, who was seen launching his kayak from a beach near the Cape Hatteras National Seashore early Saturday morning.

According to witnesses present, Fulcher’s kayak flipped as he attempted to ride away, at a distance almost 50 yards from the beach. Observing the mishap, bystanders swiftly swam out to help, pulling Fulcher from his overturned kayak and bringing him back to shore. Despite their best efforts to administer CPR, their attempts at revival proved futile.
