Florence Resident Hospitalized After Venomous Snake Bite
A man from Florence city was rushed to a local hospital after being bitten by a venomous snake from his own collection, local authorities confirmed on Friday morning. The emergency medical teams responded quickly to the scene on Marion Street and provided primary care before transporting the man to a nearby hospital.
Private Collection of Venomous Snakes
The authorities came to know about the man’s private collection of venomous snakes later on the same day. After the incident, the police deemed it necessary to determine if there were more dangerous animals at the location. This decision led to a search warrant being executed to ensure there were no threats to public safety.
A family member of the snake owner authorized the police to conduct the search. The investigating team discovered 14 snakes in total, all part of the man’s personal collection. In addition, a domestic cat was also spotted on the premises. Animal control was called in to handle and remove the animals safely.
