The incident occurred at an apartment complex located on Woodland Drive. Local officers were summoned to the crime scene on a Saturday afternoon, following reports of a shooting. Witnesses at the scene have stated that the shooting incident happened in the parking lot of the apartment development.

The suspects, identified as Shemar Hickson and Marquise Small, reportedly engaged in a heated argument that eventually led to both men shooting at each other. The altercation left Hickson with a gunshot wound to his foot.

Arrest and Charges

Following the shooting, Small reportedly fled the scene. Meanwhile, both men are facing charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Small surrendered to the police on Thursday, and Hickson turned himself in on Friday morning. Both of the accused are currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center.

Community Shocked

The shocking incident has rocked the local community, raising concerns about safety and violent crimes in the area. Residents, particularly those of the apartment complex, are now questioning their safety and security. Additional details about what led to the argument are not yet known.

Awaiting Judicial Proceedings

Both men are set to appear for their first court hearing next week. Meanwhile, investigations are still ongoing, and further details about the incident are yet to be disclosed by the local authorities. An official statement from the Florence Police Department is expected soon.

Ensuring Public Safety

In the light of the incident, local law enforcement, alongside the apartment management, have reassured the frightened community of their constant commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the public. Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities or concerning individuals in their neighborhoods.

Call for peace

This event underscores the need for peace and harmony within communities. Government officials and community leaders have called for unity amongst the residents, urging them to live in peaceful coexistence and to resolve differences through peaceful means.

As the judicial proceedings of the case unfold, it is hoped that justice will be served. It is also hoped that these unfortunate incidents serve as a reminder of the destructive outcomes of violence, reinforcing a call for peaceful resolution and understanding among community members.
