Florence, SC — This past week has been an exhilarating time for Francis Marion University (FMU) as both their men’s and women’s basketball teams put on spectacular performances, capturing the attention of fans and sports enthusiasts alike. With excitement buzzing around the court, the men’s team pulled off a stunning victory over Erskine College with a score of 79-73 in a pivotal Conference Carolinas showdown.
In the thrilling clash, junior guard Jordan Simpson stood out, demonstrating his talent by racking up an impressive 15 points. His skills on the court proved to be a driving force for the undefeated Patriots. Coming in hot off the bench was freshman forward Alex Atkinson, who contributed a solid 14 points along with 8 rebounds, showcasing his potential within the squad.

Taylor’s incredible rebounding breakdown included 30 defensive boards and 14 offensive, with a staggering 16 rebounds accumulated in just the first quarter.
In addition to her rebounding prowess, Taylor also set a new career high with 34 points in the same game, marking her 18th double-double of the season.
