Adding more layers to the building’s historic status, it is listed in the National Historic Register, providing the buyer with the obligation to preserve its original architectural design and integrity for the sake of obtaining tax credit for the purchase.

Marshall Griffin, a descendent of the original owners of the dealership, shared his nostalgia for the building, expressing, “Just fond memories of being a kid, say, 6 or 7 years old, growing up around a dealership.” He fondly recalled the days when the family raced cars from that dealership in various events such as the Darlington and the Southern 500 in Florida.
