Hey there, Myrtle Beach! Today is shaping up to be a pretty pleasant day in the Carolinas, and we just can’t help but share how gorgeous it is outside. There’s some cloud cover gently hugging the coastline, but don’t worry—out in the Pee Dee, the sunshine is definitely making an appearance, bringing a bit of brightness and warmth to our lovely area.
As for the temperature, we’re hanging out around a comfortable 84°F at the beach today. That’s right on target for this time of year! However, inland, temperatures are slightly lower than usual. Typically, this time in September, we might expect to see the mercury hit around 88°F, but today’s highs may stay around the same comfortable 84°F.
As the day winds down, don’t forget that those clouds are likely to stick around. We’re anticipating a mostly cloudy night with temperatures settling into the mid to upper 60s. It should feel pretty refreshing, perfect for a cozy evening indoors or a stroll under the stars!
Now, let’s talk about tomorrow, shall we? Friday is looking like it’ll start off fairly dry, but don’t let that fool you! As the day goes on, we’ll see the chances of rain gradually increase, especially during the evening. So if you’re headed out for a little Friday Night Football, make sure to pack your rain ponchos or umbrellas. Kickoff usually happens around 7:00 p.m., and it sounds like rain will be persistent throughout the evening and stretching into the night. But hey, there’s some good news: no thunderstorms are expected, so it should just be a rainy evening.
Moving into the weekend, we need to be prepared for a wet Saturday. Rain will likely stick around from Friday night and into the mid-afternoon on Saturday. But don’t despair! There’s a light at the end of the tunnel—by Saturday evening, the rain chances will drop significantly just in time for the big game as the Chanticleers take on William and Mary. Kickoff will kick off again at 7:00 p.m., and the moisture from earlier in the day is expected to ease up, leaving only a few lingering showers as the game progresses.
Why all this moisture, you ask? Well, it’s because a little area of low pressure is moving along a stalled front, but it’s expected to head northeast and take the rain with it pretty soon. In fact, we can look forward to some cooler and drier air rushing in by Sunday! The dew points will drop into the 50s, adding that lovely crispness to the air we all adore. Temperatures will settle in the low 80s, making for a perfect fall day.
As for Monday, we’re looking at even cooler conditions, with low temperatures possibly dipping into the upper 50s for those inland areas. What a refreshing change of pace! Just in time for those cozy sweaters and evening bonfires as the fall season continues to make its way in.
That’s all for today’s weather update, Myrtle Beach! Be sure to stay cozy and prepared as we transition into a rainy Friday. Stay dry and enjoy your weekend!
