HopeHealth Celebrates National Health Center Week
In celebration of National Health Center Week, HopeHealth is set to host a week-long commemoration from August 4th to 10th packed with employee appreciation activities, community events, advocacy initiatives, and more.
National Health Center Week: Amplifying the Impact of Community Health Centers
National Health Center Week is an annual observance held every August. The initiative aims to not only highlight the crucial role of community health centers but also to draw more support for their missions and achievements. This year, the campaign’s theme is “Powering Communities Through Caring Connections,” a focus that shines a light on fostering stronger ties between communities, health centers, and their elected officials.
Throughout the week, HopeHealth will host a variety of appreciation activities for both employees and patients. There will also be an online component where staff will be encouraged to take selfies and share them on social media using the #NHCW24 hashtag, particularly on Friday, designated as Social Media Day.
HopeHealth’s Dedication to Quality Care and Advocacy
Nicole Echols, HopeHealth’s director of external affairs, explained the importance of National Health Center Week as a time to honor the organization’s pledge to ensure quality care for everyone. It serves as a reminder of their continuous advocacy for the health and wellbeing of their local community.
Caitlin Guess, a registered dietitian/nutritionist and advocacy ambassador at HopeHealth also shared her thoughts, mentioning how the National Health Center Week offers a unique opportunity to celebrate their essential role as an FQHC and extend an invitation to the community to learn more about the organization.
In addition to this, Chief Pharmacy Officer Christi Epps highlighted the role of HopeHealth as a community health center. She emphasized that with the establishment of the HopeHealth Pharmacy, patients are given access to their medications in an affordable way. The profits earned from the pharmacy are invested back into patient services, allowing HopeHealth to further carry out its mission of serving others, providing hope, and transforming lives.
A Call for Advocacy
Hope to bring about significant changes for community health centers starts with strong advocacy work. Being an advocate involves connecting with congressional representatives and informing them about the important issues impacting these centers. Those who wish to learn about advocating for HopeHealth and other CHCs may visit hcadvocacy.org for more information.
As a nonprofit leader in providing affordable primary and specialty health care services, HopeHealth serves numerous patients across various counties. They aim to continue being the health care home of choice for almost 60,000 patients.
