City Council members have recently given the green light for the construction of 44 new homes in the charming Smith’s Field subdivision off West Palmetto Street. Planning Manager Jerry Dudley shared with us that these homes are actually the second phase of the subdivision. Council members made the decision to approve the annexation of this batch of homes on September 9. They’re building on the success of the first phase, which saw 48 homes annexed back in May 2023.
