Let’s start with Florence. On April 1, the Florence City Council will be holding a special election for the hotly contested at-large seat. This seat became available after the previous council member, Lethonia “Peaches” Barnes, left her position to focus on her new role as mayor, which she won in November.
In this race, you’ll have a choice between two candidates: Tonya Morman Jackson representing the Democrats and Zach McKay from the Republican side. Make sure to do your research about their platforms so you can cast an informed vote!
If you’re planning to take advantage of early voting, keep in mind that it ends the Friday before the big day on April 1. Don’t miss your chance to have your say!
Bennettsville Special Election: City Council District 5

The same date will also see Dillon hold a general election, featuring four city council seats up for grabs. Exciting times ahead for both cities as they decide who will lead their communities!
