Due to a dismal weather forecast, Downtown Florence’s revered award-winning block party, originally lined up for Friday, July 26th, has now been postponed until Friday, August 2. The highly anticipated east coast party band, Tru Sol Band, who were scheduled to perform on the original date, will now take the stage a week later.
Hannah Davis, Development Manager, expressed inherent gratitude towards the band for being accommodating of the reschedule. She stated, “We are grateful that Tru Sol Band was able to reschedule for the weather. This east coast party band is a Florence After 5 fan favorite, and we’re so glad to have the opportunity to bring them back.”
This year, Florence After 5 celebrates its 14th successful season. With free admission courtesy of Victors, MUSC Health Florence, Legacy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, and Commonhouse Aleworks, the event has amassed substantial popularity within the community. Chandler Investment Properties is the monthly concert sponsor for the July event, now taking place in August.
This delightful street party is held in the 100 block of S. Dargan Street in Downtown Florence and takes place on the last Friday of each month from May through September, between 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Attendees are welcome to bring chairs, however, outside coolers are not permitted and chairs should not be left unattended.
As per the updated schedule, there will be two Florence After 5 events in August – the first one being a rescheduled block party from July, followed by the regularly scheduled event on August 30 that will feature Rivermist. The band is set to hit the stage at 6 p.m.
The vibrancy of Downtown does not cease once the street festival winds down. Visitors are encouraged to step into downtown restaurants and nightlife locations for continued entertainment and exclusive specials after the event ends at 8:30 p.m.
The Florence After 5 event is a testament to Florence’s vibrant community life. Despite the unfortunate setback caused by the adverse weather conditions, the local community is expected to come in full support, making the rescheduled event a success.
