In what can only be described as a heartfelt farewell, Dillon County came together this week to honor Shipp Daniel, a dedicated servant in the capacity of Fourth Circuit Assistant Solicitor for an impressive 16 years. As Daniel prepares to embark on a new chapter at the Parham Law Firm in Florence, the community took a moment to show their appreciation for his commitment and hard work.
Shipp Daniel, a familiar face in the Dillon County judicial community, made a lasting impact through his tireless work with the solicitor’s office. After graduating from Dillon High School in 2000, Daniel set his sights on higher education, completing his degree at Clemson University in 2004 and later receiving his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2007. His career kicked off with a clerkship under the Honorable James E. Lockemy before he joined the Fourth Circuit Solicitor’s Office in 2008.
During his time in office, Daniel handled a wide spectrum of cases, but he particularly focused on violent and drug-related crimes. With thousands of cases under his belt, his expertise and experience have made him a pillar in the community—a sentiment echoed by the members of the Dillon County Council.
As the council gathered for their regular meeting, they took a moment to recognize Daniel’s invaluable service. “It was a surprise,” Daniel said, visibly moved. “I didn’t know they were going to do that. But, you know, any success we’ve had in the solicitor’s office is due to the excellent staff we had there…and again to all our law enforcement. We have excellent law enforcement officers in Dillon County,” he added, highlighting the collaborative spirit that defines the community.
The council presented Daniel with a plaque that reads, “In sincere appreciation for committed and dedicated service to our community. Be proud of the work you do, the person you are, and the difference you make!” This token of appreciation solidified not only his contributions but emphasized the relationships he’s built over the years.
After more than a decade in public service, Daniel is eager to dive into his new role at the Parham Law Firm, which has established itself as a reputable name in both criminal defense and personal injury cases throughout South Carolina. “I am excited to be joining such a prestigious law firm,” Daniel remarked. He spoke highly of the leadership and team at Parham, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to join them. “I have the utmost respect for Rose Mary and her staff,” he shared, as he looked toward this new challenge. “While I’ll miss my solicitor’s office family, I am excited about this new chapter in my career.”
His colleagues at Parham Law Firm are equally thrilled to welcome him aboard. “We are thrilled to have Shipp join our team,” said a representative from the firm. “His years of experience in the courtroom will be an asset to our firm.” There’s no doubt that he brings a wealth of knowledge that will benefit not just the firm, but also the local community that he has served for so long.
As the people of Dillon County reflect on Daniel’s years of service, there is an underlying sense of pride in having had him as a part of their community. His departure signals a new beginning, both for him personally and for the solicitor’s office, which is sure to carry on with the spirit of teamwork and commitment to serving justice that Daniel embodied.
With a heartfelt thank you and best wishes as he steps into a new arena, Dillon County looks forward to seeing the continued positive impact that Shipp Daniel will have in his future endeavors.
