The U-Haul Growth Index, which keeps tabs on one-way customer transactions over the past year, reveals that the Peach State saw an influx of newcomers, with a whopping 51.7% of all traffic recorded as people moving into South Carolina. That’s not just a small feat; it indicates an overwhelmingly positive trend for the state’s economy!

Even better news is that while arrivals are booming, departures are on the decline, dipping by 2%. All these moves have contributed to South Carolina achieving the largest net gain of U-Haul movers in the country. What a remarkable time to be in South Carolina!

What’s Drawing People to South Carolina?

So, what’s the buzz about South Carolina? Well, one of the major advantages is its cost of living, which remains 7% below the national average. And let’s not forget the climate! You can enjoy year-round outdoor fun like golfing, hiking, and hitting the beach. It sounds like a paradise for the outdoorsy folks!

Economic Boom and Job Growth

But there’s more! South Carolina has become a hotbed for business. Major manufacturing players like Boeing, BMW, and Volvo have set up shop here, further strengthening the economic landscape.
