Good Tuesday morning to everyone enjoying the beautiful Myrtle Beach! It looks like we’re in for another lovely day in our corner of the world, with plenty of sunshine and that lovely low humidity that’s perfect for outdoor adventures. The temperature is dancing around, reaching highs in the low 80s along the coast, while friends in the Pee Dee can expect to warm up into the mid-80s. So, whether you’re heading to the beach or finishing up that outdoor project, it’s a great day to be outside!
As we greet the evening, don’t be surprised if the temperatures take a little dip. High pressure will be departing from our area, leaving us with lows that could fall into the comfortable low to mid-60s. And speaking of nighttime, keep an eye out for a little patchy fog that might settle in as we move into Wednesday morning. It could create a mystical morning vibe for your commute!
Now, let’s chat about what’s waiting for us later this week. As we move towards midweek and beyond, brace yourselves because the weather is on the verge of shifting. That high pressure system moving out will result in an easterly, or onshore flow taking over. What does that mean for us? Well, it’s going to lead to an increase in cloud cover and humidity, which could put an end to our crisp mornings that are so refreshing!
By Thursday, don’t be surprised if you notice a noticeable change in the sky. Cloud cover will be on the rise, and as we venture into Thursday night and Friday, those clouds will continue to thicken. This is coinciding with a weather system named Francine making her way into the Mississippi River valley. With Francine knocking on our door, we can expect an uptick in moisture.
This is where things get interesting! Starting Friday, the chances of showers and thunderstorms will begin to creep in. If you have plans to catch a high school football game on Friday night, keep your umbrella handy! Those games might be a bit soggy due to the incoming rain and storms. The best chances for rain will really ramp up Friday night into Saturday.
As we roll into Saturday, those showers and even some thunderstorms could linger into early afternoon, making the day a bit unpredictable. But hang in there! By Sunday, we should welcome back high pressure from the north, and with it, a return to sunshine! Temperatures will again be in the cozy low 80s, perfect for those who want to make the most out of the weekend.
So, whether you’re planning your week or just keeping an eye on the weather, it looks like nature is throwing us a little curveball with a mix of sunshine, clouds, and a possibility of rain. Whatever your plans, just stay prepared and enjoy the shift in seasons here at Myrtle Beach!
