A one-year-old girl, Dylan Saige Cooper, was found safe after being abandoned in Timmonsville, SC. The community’s swift response led to her recovery following an Amber Alert. Authorities arrested a suspect connected to her disappearance, prompting ongoing investigations as the community unites in relief and support.

Timmonsville, SC: A Heartwarming Rescue

On a Friday morning full of relief and joy, a one-year-old girl named Dylan Saige Cooper was found safe after being abandoned outside a home in Timmonsville, South Carolina. The little tot was spotted around 6:50 a.m. by a witness who learned about the incident and quickly acted to help.

What Happened?

Just before all the excitement began, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) sounded the alarm with an Amber Alert for Dylan shortly before 6 a.m. on that fateful morning. Thankfully, by 7:30 a.m., officials managed to cancel the Amber Alert after successfully locating the child. It turns out Dylan had been left outside a home for an unknown period of time. The community was understandably anxious for her safety.

Who Was Involved?

Authorities wasted no time and arrested Macie Eaddy, a 32-year-old suspect, at approximately 7 a.m.. Just gearing up for a late-night shopping adventure on Thursday, Eaddy had been seen with Dylan at a Roses store in Florence around 6 p.m. that evening. Reports suggest that she was shopping alongside Dylan’s mother, Lindsey Britt. As the mother wrapped up her shopping, Eaddy offered to keep an eye on the little one. It was an offer that turned into a frightening ordeal when Britt discovered Eaddy had disappeared with Dylan.

The Race Against Time

As the search intensified, authorities learned that Eaddy was likely driving a white 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer that displayed a temporary South Carolina license plate. As the clock ticked, worried family and friends hoped for good news. A witness later noted hearing a car honk multiple times before witnessing Eaddy’s car leave a driveway around 8:30 p.m. on January 2, just hours before the Amber Alert was issued.

Dylan Found Safe

In a twist of fate, Dylan was discovered at the home of Tonya Dennis, a local resident. By the time Dylan was brought inside, she was hungry and in need of care. Authorities quickly took action, ensuring that the child was evaluated at a nearby hospital. Fortunately, she appeared to be in good health, bringing a collective sigh of relief to the community.

The Suspect’s Background

As for Macie Eaddy, she did not walk away from this incident unscathed. Eaddy was taken to the Sumter County Detention Center, facing charges pending from Florence Police. She has been charged with driving under suspension and possession of less than one gram of meth or cocaine. To add to her troubles, there’s a hold on her as a fugitive out of state, which means the legal process is only beginning for her.

Seeking Closure

The location where Dylan was found has no ties to Eaddy or Lindsey, leaving many questions unanswered. Eaddy reported that she had left Dylan with a mutual friend at an apartment complex, but details remain murky. Authorities are continuing their investigation, and more charges may be forthcoming from both the Florence Police Department and the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.

Conclusion

In the end, the safely recovered Dylan brought together an entire community, reinforcing the idea that many people care deeply for one another. With her blonde hair, blue eyes, and a sweet dimple on her left cheek, Dylan is back in good hands, reminding us all of the importance of vigilance and community action.
