Sponsor Our ArticlesVerizon Business has partnered with the South Carolina Army National Guard (SCARNG) as their primary wireless communications provider. This contract will connect over 1,000 devices with advanced technology like 5G Ultra Wideband and 4G LTE smartphones. Additionally, the SCARNG will benefit from free access to the Verizon Frontline Crisis Response Team, supporting public safety during emergencies. This agreement not only enhances communication capabilities but also prepares the SCARNG for effective crisis response.
In the vibrant state of South Carolina, a new partnership is set to make waves! Verizon Business has just announced a fresh contract that names them as the primary wireless communications provider for the South Carolina Army National Guard (SCARNG). What does this mean for our local heroes? Let’s break it down!
First off, this contract isn’t just about flashy formalities; it covers connectivity for over 1,000 devices. These devices will range from cutting-edge 5G Ultra Wideband and trusty 4G LTE smartphones to handy data devices like jet packs. This is huge for the SCARNG, as it means they will be equipped with the best technology available to help them accomplish their critical mission across our beautiful state.
But hold on, there’s even more good news! As part of this partnership, the SCARNG will get free access to the Verizon Frontline Crisis Response Team. So, what’s that all about? Essentially, this team is made up of former first responders and military personnel, bringing a wealth of experience to the table. Their primary role is to support public safety and government entities during emergencies—>and they do so 24/7.
When emergencies strike, this specialized team leaps into action, providing on-demand emergency assistance. Some of the amazing services they offer include setting up portable cell sites, Wi-Fi hotspots, and charging stations. Plus, they boost network performance to ensure everyone remains connected—absolutely essential during a crisis!
Speaking of crises, the SCARNG plays a critical role in responding to domestic emergencies, including natural disasters. During those urgent times, they also support the governor with contingency operations, ensuring that our communities are safe and supported.
But it doesn’t stop there. The Verizon Frontline team has been instrumental in aiding training exercises for first responders. For example, they recently rolled out their support during a Nuclear Hostile Action Exercise in Brunswick County, North Carolina. More than 40 first responders from 12 public safety agencies participated in this high-stakes, hands-on training! That’s some serious teamwork.
During that exercise, the Frontline Crisis Response Team provided essential communication services that included a Satellite Picocell on a Trailer (SPOT), Voice over IP (VoIP) phones, and those shiny 5G Ultra Wideband smartphones. The ability to communicate effectively during emergencies cannot be overstated, and this is where Verizon truly shines!
Verizon Frontline is committed to meeting the unique needs of first responders, drawing from over three decades of collaboration with public safety officials. Their comprehensive understanding of what’s needed in high-pressure situations ensures that our emergency responders have everything they need to protect and serve.
So, as Verizon steps into this role with the South Carolina Army National Guard, it’s clear that the state is in good hands. This partnership not only strengthens communication infrastructure but also enhances preparedness and response capabilities in our local communities. Here’s to a brighter, more connected future for South Carolina!
