The initiative focuses on a significant population of military service persons who, despite their entitlement to these benefits, do not avail themselves of this support due to factors like distance, transport constraints, and rural isolation.

Saturday’s Event: Free Admission

This event will take place on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Entrance is entirely free of charge for all those wishing to attend. The primary goal of the gathering is not only to make veterans aware of the benefits they qualify for but also to facilitate the processing of their claims.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has taken a significant step by organizing this event. “We have a high number of veterans in South Carolina who don’t take advantage of the many benefits they are eligible for. Be it transportation, distance, or residing in rural areas, they haven’t had the opportunity to hear about the support we can provide,” said Sheila Jackson, the Director of the Columbia Regional Office of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
